• Site has pedestrian access within 1/2 mile to services such as: Banking, Cleaners, Community Center, Convenience Store (where meat & produce are sold), Daycare, Hair Care, Laundry, Public Park, Restaurant, and School
Proximity to Public Transportation
• Project is within 1/4 mile of two or more planned or current bus line stops
Building Placement & Orientation
• Buildings have been placed & oriented to protect soil, existing plants, and trees
Design for Walking & Bicycling
• Sidewalks are at least 5 feet wide and separated from roadways.
• A dedicated, covered, and secure bicycle storage area for 15% of residents has been provided
• Secure bicycle storage, for 5% of non-residential, tenant, employees, and visitor is provided
• Traffic calming strategies are provided
Social Gatherings
• Outdoor gathering areas provide natural elements
Design for Safety & Surveillance
• Main entrances to the site & building are prominent & visible from the street
Landscaping
• Plants are grouped by water needs (hydrozones)
• Minimal turf(lawns)were provided to minimize watering and use of fertilizers or other chemicals
Construction Material Efficiencies
• Lumber was pre-cut and some components were pre-assembled and delivered to the site to minimize waste
Recycled Materials
• Recycled Aggregate (crushed concrete) and flyash were used for fill, backfill, and other uses
Insulation
• All Ceiling, Wall, & Floor Insulation contains no added formaldehyde
• Insulation has a recycled content of 50% or more
Air Conditioning with Advanced Refrigerants
• Air conditioning units operate with non-HCFC Refrigerants
Advanced Ventilation Practices
• Ceiling Fans were provided in every Bedroom and Living Room
Environmentally Preferable Materials for Interior Finish
• Reclaimed, rapidly renewable, or recycled-content, or finger-jointed lumber were used for interior trim, shelving, doors, and/or countertops
• Reduced formaldehyde content was used for interior finish materials such as cabinets, trim, shelving, and/or subfloor
